One of the most influential types of weapons that were utilized during any war starting from World War I was the propaganda actively used by both sides of the conflict. The opposite propaganda powers promoted their own understanding of the situation and their own vision of the events. Equal in terms of its power to the military activities, propaganda appeared to be a more subtle fight between the confronting states. Many people were involved in spreading the information that would bring benefits to the propagandists and unite the nation around a single by showing that everyone can be involved and by promoting the feeling of patriotism among the people so that the war found respective support in the society. The propagandistic actions were recognized as the driving force that contributed to the continuation of the battles and giving the people a unified reason for involvement in the war activities. One of the main tasks of the propaganda was the promotion of patriotism as the basis on which people would get involved in the war. For example, propagandist texts and posters were used to persuade women that they can perform the functions of men while the later are at the war. One of the peculiarities of the propagandistic actions was the wide accessibility of propaganda. For example, the United States spread propaganda not only within the country but also outside of it in order to gain the support of other countries. One of the goals of propaganda was ensuring that the people had the same idea about the events and the same perception of what is happening. The propagandists might have even used the power of advertising in order to promote their ideas. Speaking of propaganda, one of the most popular means that were used in the countries that were involved in the war were the posters. For the posters, they used different types of art as well as different methods. They were in most cases based on stereotyping and dehumanizing the enemy while promoting the positive approach of their own people. However, using the posters was not sufficient. The countries needed fast ways to promote their idea, and thus, they also actively used the media, including radio and cinematography as well as the art.
