The use pesticides are widely used in our society today. People today use it to exterminate unwanted pests, such as rodents, insects and molds. There are initially three categories of pesticide substances: insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides—all of which specializes in the way it destroys certain pests. Insecticide fights against insects that “feed on crops, leaves, roots, and other parts of plants” (Naveen et al 125). This is the type of pesticide that may be used in most parks, gardens, sidewalks, and forests. Herbicide is the pesticide that is used in agricultural settings to kill weeds and other unwanted planets. Lastly, fungicides can be used to control disease attacks on crops. The use of pesticides in our society is extremely valuable to how we manage, process, store, and transport agricultural merchandises. However, as we continue to use these toxic chemicals to help preserve our vegetables and fruits, protect our crops, and fight against diseases that may threaten our health, we undoubtedly fail to recognize the health implications that threatens our society. I would like to argue how detrimental pesticide use is to human health—from acute health conditions, to chronic health problems, and to allergic conditions—the negative implications of this toxic substance are outweighed by its positive effects toward agricultural commodities.
