Is Online Learning Helping Or Hurting Education?

Is online learning helping or hurting education, that is the question? A lot of education professionals think that online education is hurting the education program, but a lot of other people as in teachers, government officials, and parents, actually think it helps more than hurts the student’s education. I think the main reason there is such a big debate over online learning is because this is a fairly new way of learning. the in the classroom setting, going to school, day to day routine is what everyone is used too, and some people are afraid of change, even if online learning is the more logical thing to consider when thinking about education for yourself and/or child. With online learning the parent or an in home tutor is not teaching the student, a teacher through the computer is teaching the student through email or virtual classroom, but the parent does not have to be present. A lot of people say this is another way for students to get lazy and become unfocused and fall behind in their education process. But I completely disagree, I find this as an opportunity for the student to get completely ahead if they are focused, and determined, you could graduate early and then have time to figure out what you actually want to do. I think you just have to know your student and know if they would thrive in an education environment at home. Also you need to trust your child if your student is saying they want to try online school from home, you should let them try it and if they don 't like it, they can just go back to normal school, its really not that big a deal. Online learning can help if your focused and want to do good, and it can hurt if you get distracted easily and like to …show more content…
Online learning is easier for everyone involved less gas is spent on taking kids to school, less money is spent buying school supplies and other school necessities. Now I am not saying online learning is for everyone, but it can be if we put our minds too it, who knows maybe one day we won 't even have public school, and everything will be online. I can see the parents concern as to their child falling behind or not getting the same kind of education because it is through a computer, but it is still a real person that is teaching the content, not some robot. Have you ever tried online education, what side of history are you
