The influence of music on our children is becoming higher and higher each day.The influence of music can be positive and negative. The influence of music does not only affect children but also adults. There is an influence of music lyrics on children because 1/3 of songs have references to negative actions(Lisa Mayoh, 2008). Music negatively affects the actions of people because it causes racial profiling, promotes violence , and has increased the crime rate. Racial profiling shows a big part of the racism we have today. He/she thinks it will solve the problem when really it turns into a tragedy or a lot of trouble because the rappers in the songs rap about solving their arguments and troubles through gun violence or some other type of action that results in death or tragedy(Violent rap lyrics, 2008). Not only is the influence of music affecting children towards other children 's it 's affecting them in a way of approaching the police. Due to rap music rappers make police look so bad and hated. Rappers quote "the Feds are watching" or "F the Feds" it shows to children and people that the police give off bad vibes. Police do their job but are still hated no matter what due to the lyrics and talk of police being bad people. The influence of music lyrics promotes violence also. Rap also promotes pacifism than any other genre. Our exposure to violence is increasing worldwide, and the younger generation is almost always the most affected by it. There is violence in family, in schools and universities, in the media, in politics, in language. In language, we use words to make people behave in a certain way.
