How Does Technology Affect The Relationship Between Parents And Their Children

The topic that I will be advocating for is Young Children and TechnologyMedia in Early Childhood Programs, this is an issue that is affecting the relationship between parents and their kids. Children now rely on technology for most of their play limiting challenges to their creativity and imaginations also limiting necessary challenges to their bodies to achieve motor development and cognitive development. This technology is causing a disintegration of core of values that long ago held families together, now parents relay in communication for everything even to educate their kids and to make their lives faster and efficient. We see children now spending more time playing or watching cartoons on their tablets or phone instead of socializing with others kids or their parents. Both parties benefit. Early childhood programs should have more conferences with the parents where they can discuss more about technology and how is affecting the way they bond with their children. Teachers should make this conference to encourage parents to spend more time with them instead of letting them spend most of their time on a tablet or smartphones. They can also have a workshop once a week for both parent and child where they can teach the parent activities that they can do at home with their children, activities that will help them communicate better with them. Also, if the child is having any difficulty staying away from any kind of technology this workshop can teach the parents how to keep them away by doing activities with them, like going to the zoo or park. The important thing here is to keep them away from technology and to help parents bond better with them and teach them activities that they can also do at home together, activities that benefit
