According to the result from Australia Disability Network, there are 1 in 6 Australian are affected by hearing loss, and almost 30,000 sign language (AUSLAN) users. The result shows that the people with hearing impairment is around us in our community. They also have right to deserve a better service. Therefore, for providing a excellent services to them, with individual respect and courtesy to all the customers. As a restaurant, our goal is to hope every customer enjoy their meal.

Those adjustments are covered in lots of services such as banking and insurance services, services provided by government departments, transport or telecommunication services, professional services like those provided by lawyers, doctors or tradespeople, services provided by restaurants, shops or entertainment venues

Two main types of Hearing loss

• Conductive Hearing Loss
It is caused by any condition or disease which stop the sound from getting through the middle ear cavity to the inner ear. Also, it can be caused by a damaged ear drum or impacted ear wax. Hearing aid is recommended.

Sensorineural Hearing loss
It occurs when damage to the cochlear or the nerve pathways from the inner ear to the brain. Moreover, it can be caused by exposure to loud noise or ageing. Amplification hearing aid is recommended.

There are several communication barriers for the person with hearing loss when having meal in a restaurant, such as
• Difficulty in ordering the meal

In biological perspective, we may turn off the background music, to provide a quite environment for the people with hearing impairment.
• Be patient There are some limited by using the sign language(AUSLAN), not all the words can be performance by sign language. Therefore, when there are some misunderstanding or difficulties between the customers and workers, the customers maybe feel frustrated and impatient. Based on the psychological perspective, we need to be patient, to let them clam down, and express their feeling, find another way to continue the communication, for example, using writing notes.

For creating an inclusive community, we should respect others culture through learning their language and comprehended their difficulties without any discrimination. As a restaurant, we are welcome to all the customers, and let all the customers feel satisfied when having meal. Therefore, when facing to the customer with hearing impairment, we should try our best to show consideration to all their
