Reasons That Leads To Climate Change

Nowadays, climate change has become a severe problem. Extreme climate causes many disasters. Tsunamis, floods, drought, every occurrence will cause millions of deaths and injuries or ecological calamities. For example, France reached a high temperature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit in 2003, in only two weeks that caused nearly fifteen thousand people perished in a heat wave (The Natural Resources Defence Council, 2015). The impact on global warming will continue to expand and cause more effect on ecological, environmental, economic, and societal aspects. In addition, the main element that leads to climate change is energy consumption. Thence, reducing global consumption is the key to curb environmental deterioration. This essay will present two reasons that cause energy consumption. The first reason is agriculture has become the main reason of climate change. Second, Effects of global food wasting. Meanwhile, to suggest three solutions that individuals can do to reduce energy consumption, and to evaluate them.

The global carbon footprint made from food waste has reached the double total amount of greenhouse gas emissions from transportation. In a recent research, In the European Union, they wasted approximately 90 million tons of food every year. If we do not take any action to suppress such a situation, the figure of food waste might attain to 126 million metric tons by 2020(European Commission, 2010, cited in The House of Lords, 2014). For this reason, reducing food waste is an urgent obligation. In order to solve the problem of food waste, people can write a list before purchase and choose food from a price reduction zone or buy food from the expiring item store to reduce food waste.
