Global warming has shown significant effects on crops in the United States over the past few decades. With overall temperature rising, crops are producing less food leading to less food available. Global warming is setting off a chain of events leading to a possible future food crisis. The crops being primarily affected are corn and soybeans. (Schlenker, 2014) The U.S. is currently using corn for multiple purposes such as fuel, food for people and ranches. The U.S. also produces 41 percent of the world’s corn causing a loss in profit and making some countries have to conserve corn usage. (Schlenker, 2014) Green house gases have been found to affect the climate that is raising the temperature leading to certain food products to be above safe heat limits. There has been a lot of research done lately about how global warming is being caused and its harmful affects. Currently one of the biggest investigations is over green house gases and whether weather or climate is being changed from it. (Schlenker, 2014) Only certain crops are being looked at but still show a scattered affect on other industries. The climate changes have been focused on continental United States since other counties have different climates and pollution amounts. Results have been proven to shown pollution is hurting the environment. (Lobell, 2007) With pollution converging vast amount of area it’s hard to look at climate change over a global scale and without information about the climate in the past. A…
