Traditional Family Values In The United States

Families in the United States evolve over time. It seems now traditional family values are changing more often, whereas in the past values were meaningful and everyone lived by them. In our society today, there have been an increase in diverse family, partial upbringing of children, economic changes within the family and reproductive technologies. Marriages in this generation usually end in divorce. Usually in recent decades those who get married end up divorce months or years later. According to the text, “the U.S. divorce rate has more than tripled over the last century”. Being away for time to time can cause kids a lot of stress. So they tend to get attached to whoever else they spend more time with. The last trend is reproductive technologies, which has evolved over the years. Since 1978, there’s been tens of thousands who have been born out of a test tube also called vitro fertilization, the concept of in vitro fertilization is for couples who can’t conceive a baby on their own. This procedure is an alternative for many couples to have a family. I have some friends who couldn’t conceive so they did this, they told me it was the best thing they ever did. Now they have their little bundle of joy. I think it’s a miracle and a blessing that couples can do this, it gives anyone who can’t conceive a chance also. In conclusion, there is five traditional family trends that are lived by many of us in this generation. Over the years, past trends hardly exist because of all the new trends being set. These trends impact many people’s lives which may be a good thing or a bad thing for them.
