The Effects Of Censorship On The Music Industry

Illegal downloads, bootlegging movies, the list goes on. Jobless artists due to the fact that people are downloading music instead of going out to purchase the artists music. Movie theaters have also closed due to the fact that people are bootlegging the movies and putting them on the internet for different people to watch. People like to take the easy way out when it comes to buying music and or going to the movies. Many record labels have had to shut down just because they have no way to bring in enough money to keep it going. Copyright infringement has left a harmful stain on the music and film industry. The big fact of the matter is that so many people are becoming unemployed just because of copyright infringement. The definition of infringement is to do something that does not follow or obey or follow a rule or law. The article states “it is no secret also that there are many reasons for artist to get frustrated by the current music business system with venues that don’t support new artist, radio stations only giving airplay to certain artist, musicians playing at venues for free, illegal downloads, CD pirating, lack of respect for professional musicians, just to mention a few.
