Social psychologist Sarah Cayne, who studies the effects caused by reality TV, she was able to find that they are full of situational aggression that cause a change in a teenagers behavior (bullying & media 1). “Reality” shows, that feature nothing but a bunch of adults acting like children by arguing, shouting, and throwing insults at each other is just another form of social bullying (reality TV sets bad example 1). Look at the TV show survivor, with the whole concept of last-man-standing style of elimination game the format has been duplicated by many other TV programs (Bullying and media 1). The style of the show is to make packs with the other players and use the other ones so that you can have their loyalty and you don’t get voted off, but you’re also trying to plot against them so at the end of it you’re the last-man-standing (bullying and media 1). They use all the ways of back stabbing, terrible behavior, lying and cheating by exploiting others is enforced by the show (bullying and media 1).you might not see it but Survivor actually encourages bullying, but it does in so many ways (bullying and media 1). The bullying affects the behavior, emotions, and their brains. Let’s talk about their behavior first. The bully has learned the power of aggression from home (Schafer 2). Their main goal is to humiliate a student who is physically or psychologically susceptible unable be at the top of the social order (Schafer 2). That power is used to abuse others (Schafer 2). After long periods of bullying it will start to take a tool on one’s behavior this can then hamper one’s ability when it comes to processing events happening around them and be able to respond in the right way (Tim 1).
