Acid Rain Affecting Human's Life

Acid rain is caused by a chemical reaction that starts when compounds like sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides are released into the air. Acid Rain is like normal rain it tastes the same, looks the same. Acid rain is a something that causes problems to our environment. The effect of acid rain are more seen in the water. In some lakes acid rain causes the fish to die. Acid rain is a problem that we are facing, but we are ignoring the problem. Acid rain is also affecting human’s life because humans also get sick from Acid rain. These actually is a serious problem that it’s leading to the biodiversity in aquatic life. Acid rain has always been a problem but it was not until the 1960s that scientist began to pay attention to the problem. In 1980 the U.S congress pass an Acid deposition act. The act was an 18 year assessment and research program. The national Acidic precipitation was the one that directed the program. It was until 1991 that the, DENR provided its first assessment of Acid rain in the U.S. The report informed that 5 percent of the state of New England were acidic. The eastern third of the U.S. has also been affected. The others areas that are affected are Taiwan and china. The areas were more Acid rain occurs is in areas that are more industrialized. These is likely to occur because in areas that are industrialized is were more air pollution occurs. Cars are the ones that most often cause air pollution which causes the bad gases to get in the clouds and then make acid rain appear. These are the areas were Acid rain is more likely to appear; however Acid rain can still appear where there is no pollution. Acid rain is mostly from bad gases that cars emit. Acid rain also affect the economy. Some places economy is based on fishing. Acid rain kills a lot of fishes so people who get their money from fishing are seriously affected because there is no fishes to catch and sell. Another reason why Acid rain affects the economy is because it affects lakes that later on need to be clean. Cleaning a lake or a place that has water and is contaminated from Acid rain; to clean these it takes a lot of money. Sometimes the treatment has to be done more than twice.
