Thanks to social media sites like twitter, social media users have found out exactly how productive and informative sites like twitter can be. Spending time on twitter may have its downfalls but it is also a great way to keep informed with trending topics. These days most celebrities have a twitter account and even some politician do to keep in touch with a targeted fan base. Twitter is a great way to broadcast messages about either products or political views amongst the general public. Thanks to twitter communication with people in today’s society has never been easier. Since twitter has changed the way people communicate it has made conversations easer but very insincere. When a social media site becomes a part of mass media there is going to be both positive and negative qualities. By using twitter it can influence the followers by finding interest in products and even sports teams gain members of the fan base. Twitter has made one of the biggest impacts on today’s society, and set a new standard for modern communication. When Scott McCloud wrote his book “understanding comics” a section was taking out where he stated “If people failed to understand comics, it was because they defined comics too narrowly” (360). Mccloud states that to basically understand in this case comics we cannot define comics narrowly. People who don’t understand twitter may just seem that it is a social media site and nothing more. Generally twitter is used more amongst teenagers and young adults for fun as well as function purposes. A person who doesn’t use twitter may overlook that and miss the service in which the media site can provide. Once people learn about the features twitter can provide, the media site becomes a much more valuable piece to mass
