One of my quirkiest traits―and a consistent topic of laughter amongst my friends―is my ever-present and never-fading habit of texting with perfect grammar. As a child, there was never a time where I did not have a sufficient access to books. Growing up in a household where my older sister loved to read, my father wanted the same for me. To me, writing has always been busy work and something that teachers only used to create grades. My writing experience in high school was very limited to one category in: practice AP essays. The writing I did in class was always preparing for AP exams and was very fact based. Most essays, such as history, were only used to show that I knew the material and weren’t graded on how good the writing was.
