In the article “Through the Window at Disney: A Lifetime of Brand Desire,” Susan Bennett and Marlis Schweitzer critically analyse a feature of Disneyland: the “Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique.” Bennet and Schweitzer offer detailed descriptions of the boutique while critically responding to the services it provides, such as the Princess makeover. The article gives evidence to suggest that the Princess makeover uses child consumer/models to embody the “Disney fantasy” in a crafty method of “brandscaping” (28, 25). Using this article as a reference, I will critically analyze scenes from Disney animated films such as The Princess and the Frog as well as some relevant Disney products and experiences. I will pay particular attention to the messages being…

Although Disney has a positive culture, it has a strong culture which might cause negative impacts in the organization such as limiting the diversity of thought and retaining similar people. That may drive to routinization environment. Because I prefer to work in a place where the diversity, innovation, renewal activities, and flexible working taking a place in the organization, I feel that I am not a good fit with Disney’s core culture and values. Furthermore, I think that my coworker would fit with Disney because the environment almost aligned with his values, personality, skills, career goals, and the culture.…

This campaign for Disneyland is particularly interesting, because it doesn’t simply focus on capturing one target audience, but more specifically a bond or connection between two target audience members. This analysis depicts the TV commercial focusing on a father and daughter. Charlotte Mathers is a 16-year old ‘typical teenager’. Preppy, pretty and angelic by nature, she has a thriving social life and is popular amongst her friends, regularly going out with them and documenting their fun via selfie-filled social media accounts. She lives within a ‘nuclear’ family in a friendly, suburban area – and is a good student at school and is active with a few social clubs, such as cheerleading and student council, because she loves to get involved and have fun where she can.…

The Contamination of American Culture In 27 B.C., it was the Roman Empire who first inspired the idea of globalization by their attempt to spread their culture to neighboring regions, but sadly failed. Then centuries later, in the early twentieth century, Germany with Adolf Hitler aspired to expand their customs and cultures through horrible actions and horrid manners. Now, today America is taking their turn to contaminate the world with their beliefs and customs. Perhaps the greatest challenge for Disney when entering new international markets has been how to handle cultural differences. Euro Disney later named Disneyland Resort Paris) opened near Paris France, in 1992, to fanfare and problems. Many well-known French citizens and labor unions vocally opposed the park because they felt that t was wrong to allow a symbol of American culture to become a focal point in France. Attendance for the first three years was well below expectations, causing grave financial difficulties.…

Since I work at Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts, my options for the subject of this paper were very limited. Disney is extremely strict on what kind of information is released, so I couldn’t reorganize a stockroom – pictures backstage are off limits – I couldn’t produce a fashion show – I don’t work solely with apparel – and I couldn’t do anything that interfered with the visual merchandising department. With all that said, I decided to comparison shop Disney World and Universal Studios. I’ve been visiting Walt Disney World for years and years now, so when I decided to take a trip to Universal, it was a huge change for me. To me, Disney is this magical place where the outside world fades away once you enter; nothing really compares.…
