Student athletes should have to take random drug tests to potentially decrease the use of drugs in athletic programs and also in schools. Margaret Walsh from onhealth.com believes that the amount of high school students that are using drugs and alcohol has been increasing for the past 5 years. In 2013, about 40% of students admitted to smoking marijuana and another 25 percent admitted to drinking alcohol. This statistic shows that the amount of drugs being used by high school students is shocking. I believe this evidence proves just how high the percentage of drug use is and how it is affecting a good portion of students.
