Importance Of Noise Pollution

A sound is the oscillation of pressure in materials such as the atmosphere, water, or the earth. In spite of the fact that the domain for the pressure oscillations of sound is rather small, there is a significant difference in pressure between the weakest sound heard by a human being (such as the sound of the rustling of leaves), and the strongest sound heard by them (such as the launching of a missile, or an explosion). The size of such difference is measured by the range of the oscillations of pressure. For this reason, the pressure level of sound is calculated logarithmically and in decibels, which is in good accordance with the human hearing system. In 1946, the WHO (World Health Organization) was created. The duty of this Organization was, for the people around the globe, to achieve a fairly ideal level of physical, psychological, and social health. In attaining the above mentioned, the WHO made legislations with respect to the noise produced by the flying of aircraft, the urban and suburban commute, factories, etc. It, also, introduced certain groups of people as most vulnerable; these groups included children and teenagers, people with hearing disorders, the elderly, night shift workers, people with illnesses, pregnant women, and those with mental problems. In the meantime, the sound produced by airplanes was found to be one of the most important sources of noise pollution. In general, …show more content…
If a student is exposed to too much of these noises, he/she will become nervous and their tension will increase, because that person will lose control and panic. There are many ways of studying this theory; one of them is a statistic method in which the direction of the wind will be taken into account, due to the fact that the wind would direct these noises towards or away from residential zones. The Vigilant Life of Eastern Chipmunks Despite common belief, being tiny and cute is not always an advantage. For most species, such as chipmunks, this means they are considered prey for various predators. As a consequence, chipmunks spend the majority of their lifetime attempting to avoid predators by being observant of their surroundings. A paper recently published in Behaviour by Jeanne Clermont and her colleagues analyzes how eastern chipmunks adjust their vigilance levels according to the physical and social effects of their environment. To increase survival rates, chipmunks have to balance resource acquisition and predator avoidance; therefore, modulating the level of risk with environmental factors should influence the expression of anti-predator behaviors.…

American Noise The song American noise is a song by the Christian band known as Skillet. This song to me is an anthem for the young generation of our society who feel like outcasts. Most hard rock groups of this present age concentrate on what they feel is wrong with society, but not really doing anything about it. The only element it lacks is to empower the listener that they have a voice.…

But all sound waves are different too and they are many components that play into this. The energy something makes when it vibrates produces sound waves that have a definite pattern. Each wave can be big or small. Big sound waves have what's called a high amplitude or intensity and we hear them as louder sounds while small waves are the opposite. Amplitude is a metric method associated with hearing.…
