While I did ask him some of the same type of questions I asked my Grandmother, we mainly focused on the family aspect of the economy. He told me that black families usually lived on farm land, and if not there then they lived in lowly apartments in the intercity. He continued to say that the lack of resources that families of color had led to them staying together on a larger scale. It was rare for certain members of the family to branch away in the slightest bit. That would stay the same until the 70’s when more mass transportation methods were introduced giving more black families the chance to start a new life. The next thing he told me was the most interesting part of my entire phone call with him. We stuck with the family theme and I asked if anybody in the family went to college, he said that when the family sensed a special kid the entire family would raise the money to send that one kid to college when it was time for them to go. I thought that was fascinating because it showed how entire families were sacrificing everything just so that one member of the family could lead a special life.
Moving forward, I think this four year run with current President of the United States, Donald Trump will have a lot to do with our economy down the line. I really believe that this country could be in a terrible place with the economy if this wall
