For the poorer countries, the brain-drain is destructive as they continually lose their brightest minds and as a result, they are forced into a cycle of constant poverty and can never grow out of it as they don’t have the people to do it. Additionally, the loss of workers as a whole in both skilled and unskilled labor, presents an issue as it leaves some industries with holes as there is no one to do the labor. Then for the migrants who work in unskilled fields face many issues as they work hard jobs in terrible conditions for woeful pay. So although they are getting the opportunity to work towards a better future, many people find it hard to actually climb the social ladder and better themselves financially. As a result, even though many people migrate in order to gain benefits typically the children of the migrants reap the benefits. Yet many immigrants know this and simply want to ensure that their children will have better opportunities to grow and become wealthier.
To conclude, voluntary economic migration has many benefits and many pitfalls as some groups gain much others lose much. The migration allows for big countries to continue to grow and dominate the globe while the smaller poorer countries are pushed farther into the abyss of insignificance.
