A Forensic pathologist/medical examiner and forensic entomologist could work together to identify the remains of a body that has been decomposing for a day or two. Plenty of tissue remains on the body to conduct fingerprint and deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) profiling of a victim. The Forensic entomologist studies insect and their relations to a crime scene. Insects provide valuable clues on the approximate time of death, wound sites, and potential drug use. All types of insects feed on a decomposing body (McNeil, 2010).
