I understand that as a special educator, one of my roles would include being a case manager, and with this new role are many responsibilities. I have to be organized and efficient, and in doing so, it is important to keep detailed records of meeting dates, evaluations, and assessments. I can find essential information in the New Hampshire Rules for the Education of Children With Disabilities or NH Department of Education website. Another piece of professional responsibility I have is working together with family members, teaching staff, medical personnel, and specialist. One way I can stay connected and collaborate is with communication. Emailing is fast, efficient and keeps you in contact with the team. I understand that keeping the communication open between the family members and myself also builds rapport and trust. Along with collaboration and communication, support is also a vital component in my professional responsibilities title. I will support families with children with disabilities and I will make sure that each child receives the support that is written in their IEP. I feel I am proficient in my understanding of the professional responsibility. I plan to continue to develop my understanding of my professional responsibilities by reviewing all that I have learned and all the lessons I have to encounter.
