That is why the deputy district attorney, Peggy Lien, in Nevada decided not to press any charges against David Cash. David Cash witnessed little girl raped and murdered by his friend at a casino. Cash saw the action taken in place but failed to recognize and react properly to the event. Cash is later scolded by social media. Lien explained that it was impossible to put any legal charges against David Cash because, “Moral reprehensibility is not a crime”. (The Bad Samaritan) Due to the fact that David cash did not physically assist in the crime, the office could not charge any legal consequences however, “He is certainly accountable in the court of public opinion”. David Cash in an interview argued that he did not want to get involved being in the situation. Because of David’s false accusation, the little girl had been raped and murdered. Naturally, the people wanted David Cash to be charged for his absence of morality by kicking him out of his school, but the principle stated that they can not kick him out; He did not do anything against the law or school policy and would be not possible for him to be expelled. David Cash is immured to life sentence in the eye of society, but he did not do anything lawfully wrong. This quote demonstrates how we stand up to immorality because Ralph, the leader, told everyone in the group that his name was Piggy even though Piggy especially told Ralph not to tell anyone. After the situation Ralph did not attempt to vindicate the accident, because he wants to grapple onto as much respect and power as a leader. Sequentially, Ralph did not want to stand up for Piggy because it would hurt his reputation too much and in doing so would lose his respect from his
