Shakespeare wrote his play with a purpose in mind of sending this message. To show how powerful love can be and although it can be good, there is a bad side to it too. Almost everyone loves someone or something and usually whomever they love makes them happier. But they need to realize that love comes with consequences. People are willing to do anything in order to defend or be with the one they love. Shakespeare’s message in his play reminds people of this message, which is important because people always see love as good and never as something bad. People realizing that love has two sides to it will help them handle this strong emotion. The definition of love states that there is an intense feeling of deep affection towards another present. From reading this first act, it seems as if what Romeo was feeling towards Juliet was not love; it could have been a brief infatuation at the first moment or lust.
