This can affect the society who lives near the areas where there is a high rate of drug deals. This can affect real-estate agents, who need to sell a home, but the property values have gone down due to the drug rates around the area. Drug abuse especially effects families. Many families may be torn apart due to someone in the family being addicted to drugs and abusing the drugs. When a parent is abusing drugs, it may cause strain on their relationship with their significant other, and this can lead to divorce. If these families have children, it may cause for strained relationships between them. Children who are in these drug effected families may also have to step up and help, since one, if not both, of the parents are abusing drugs. This does not only effect the immediate family members, but also to the extended family. These extended family members will often experience anxiety, fear, anger, concern, embarrassment, guilt, and feelings of abandonment (NCBI, n.d, para. 2). There are also neighbors, co-workers, and friends who will be effected by the person who is using drugs. Neighbors could be effected by having these drugs in their neighborhood, and co-workers may have to take on a larger work load due to their co-worker using drugs. Drugs will continue to get distributed throughout the states, and they will make their way into more cities. If more people are affected by drugs, it could drive up crime rates. Although it may not be proven that drugs are directly related to crime rates, there are some crimes that seem to be related to drugs. The first crime that is related to drugs is that the drug-use crime (NCADD, 2016, para.8). This crime seems to be related to the person taking the drugs, and acting in a way that is blamed on the way the drugs are effecting their way of thinking and behavior. The next type of drug related crime is related to needing money to fund their drug use. These crimes seem to deal with stealing money, items, or even larger items like cars, so that users can fund their addiction. The last type of crime that is related to drugs, is making the drugs. This crime effects the people who try to transport, sell, and produce these drugs. These crimes can lead to violence if a drug is produced wrong, a drug deal has gone wrong, or illegally trafficking drugs into different places (NCADD, 2016,
