Next year, I hope to see Ramsey continue to develop strategies that help him develop clear and organized writing. I look forward to helping him with this process.

Sometimes a person can walk through life without any hesitations or questions, knowing everything, but for most, it is a battle over what is right and what is wrong. Throughout reading the second half of Phillip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Phillip K. Dick, a new theme formed in my head: Even though it may be wrong, sometimes it must be done. It is often hard to realize what the right thing to do is, especially when all the options seem wrong. Never knowing what consequences may arise, Rick Deckard, the main character, had to face these problems many times throughout the conclusion of this story.…

However, John decided to structure his class differently. He was on the children level so that the students can see that he was motivated about the lesson just like them. For me, I believe that John was doing the right thing by modeling the process. Students that are that young are not aware of how the writing process works.…

What does it mean to be human? Over time, humans evolved as the superior beings on Earth, and they used their basic characteristics of emotions, body structure, and cognition to define humanity. In Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, the author Philip K. Dick displayed androids that passed as humans due to their technological advancements closing the gaps between human and machine. Humans created the physical manifestation of humanity, and once androids obtained these characteristics, no differentiation was possible between the real and unreal.…

In his novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Ship?” an American writer Philip K. Dick takes aim at what it is to be human and how to recognize one among androids. Dick introduces the Voigt-Kampff machine to serve as an interrogation tool to distinguish humans from androids. By examining the depictions of various characters – humans and androids, we can see Dick is arguing that Voigt-Kampff Empathy Test is implausible and doesn’t make any sense from the humane and ethical perspective. In general, androids are made specifically for people who have departed on Mars.…

It feels like so long ago when I first began this English course. I can remember being so excited about the class topic, racism and social justice, which I felt that I had a lot of passion for. Little did I know that I would have to gather up even more enthusiasm and passion to be able to continue writing papers about the same topic all semester long. This course has tested my endurance, and at many times my patience, and for that I am thankful because I know in the end, it has made me a better writer. Despite various minor challenges this semester I believe that I have put in the hard work that it takes and I have achieved the course goals and will complete this class feeling fulfilled and accomplished.…

The essence and understanding of consciousness and individuality are frequently explored through the use of character isolation in the book, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. Through the deep self analyzation and isolated state of mind of Rick Decker, the main character of the story, the concept of the individual and identity are achieved but not necessarily defined. The hierarchy found between humans and androids in Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? shows the division found often in various societies, and common assimilating behavior of individuals to form or be a member of a group. As demonstrated in Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, society places higher value on the assimilating mind in order to preserve a hierarchy of social…

He also has a quick witted sense of humor which is often on display as when in my 12th grade AP Macroeconomics class I asked what commodity Florida specialized in and he answered ‘failed elections”. Another of Luke’s strengths is his perseverance and the determination he shows in the difficult classes where his hard work is what makes the difference. Toward the end of his 11th grade his 12th-grade schedule was not coming together as he had hoped. He wanted to take AP Government and AP macro the only two AP social studies classes he had not taken. Unfortunately to schedule these two classes he would have to give up band and Italian, which are both classes that he had taken since 7th grade.…
