The sociological theory chosen is symbolic interactionism. This theory gives a theoretical view on how scholars examine the relationships of individuals within their circle. Inside the circle everyone communicates with similar language and symbols to make everyone make sence of their social worlds. Symbolic interactions theory founder name was George Herbert Mead, but never published his work on it. He later taught his student Herbert Blumer who intercepted Mead 's work and made the theory known to everyone. Blumer categorized the term "symbolic interactionism" into the three categories. Their response is not toward the actions of one another but instead is viewed on the reasoning which they attach to such actions. This human interaction is sometimes taken for granted and pushed on the side as irrelevant element which does not need investigation but is regarded a simple neutral link or one of the casual chains between the causes and factors responsible for human behavior. The main source of social interaction is the meaning of a typical communication with significance. The language used through the interaction have the ability to name things, designate objects, and actions to a certain idea by using a popular procedure called symbols, which have intelligent expressions. The third is the meaning are handled in, and modified through, an interpretative process used by the person dealing things he or she encounters (Blumer 1969) . During this interaction between the individuals Michael first feels for the first time on what family really is. He feels love and warmth that Leigh Anne has offered him a place to stay. This gives Michael the light in his life and how he can now have something to live for. The theory symbolic interactionism shows on how people develop and rely upon in the process of social interaction. The reality is seen as social developed interaction with others. Most common is symbolic interactions believe a physical reality does indeed exist by an individual social definitions and that social definitions can develop in part or relation to something that is actually real. In the movie Leigh Anne and Michael use symbolic interactionism by forming a strong bond, and this bond was equal to the role of the mother son relationship where Leigh Anne took Michael into her house and cared for him just like she would do for her own child. Leigh Anne helped Michael throughout the movie to have successful life.
