Cubism went beyond the bounds of impressionism and gave new meaning to not only art but the way beauty could be seen in the world through its odd ways of placing objects together. Cubism aimed to first break apart the original form of an object of human body and then place it back together in a way that allowed for new angels to seen as well as viewpoints. An example of such work is the painting Girl with a Mandolin by Pablo Picasso. As the art movement continued to grow began to grow more and more open to as what cubism could be. The open endedness of this art movement gave freedom to artist to included as range of influence to create a whole piece. This allowed for the art to transform into whatever the may be possible. For example, Marcel Duchamp’s painting Nude Descending a Staircase, No. 2 was at first criticized for not being easily understandable even with the title. This only went to show artist during this time about how art had no bounds and pushed the viewers of art to really look for meaning instead of expecting it to be simply given to them.
