Quality - Save-A-Lot produces and sells high quality products, that have their own brand names. The downfall of Save-A-Lot branding is popularity because of not having any national advertising campaigns like other brands such as Kellogg 's. Even though they don’t have the most popular products, grocery stores like Shoprite and Acme carry the quality of their products and are still their most important aspect.
Process - First the Save-A-Lot needs to look at its customer base and see what exactly the customer needs. After seeing what the customers buy, order these products in decent quantities, at decent expiration dates. For Save-A lot, we learned a few of their operational issues by interviewing a manager. One of their big issues that they face every day is inventory management. Since Save-A lot carries so many different types of products like personal care products, foods from baby food to frozen dinners, and an abundance of miscellaneous household products, large companies like Save-A-Lot do audits to check on how they control their inventory. 4. Hire a few more employees. There are plenty of times when there is a decent amount of customers in a save-a-lot store. At those times, it is difficult to get help, and time consuming to stand in those long slow-moving lines. Usually when I go to my local save-a-lot store, there is only two people working. One person is at the cash register, as another person is doing something completely different, and isn 't paying any attention to the customers. If there were more employees, it would allow save-a-lot to efficiently help customers and save customers from the frustrating wait times.
5. Replace their non-durable bags. Since save-a-lot does not give out free bags with purchases and sells them at 10 cents each, it frustrates the customer when they buy a lot of items. The customer is frustrated because the bags are not durable and people are not used to not receiving free bags with their purchase. If they were to sell durable bags, the customer would not mind the 10 cents as much, and be happier leaving the store, knowing that their bag will not break on
