Philosophy
The Dougherty International Education Middle School (DIEMS) philosophy is to foster an environment where every student values being life-long learners, independent and critical thinkers. DIEMS attempts to accomplish this through a rigorous curriculum focusing on the relationship between all academic disciplines and the world in which we live. DIEMS’s philosophy emphasizes an appreciation of and respect for cultural diversity, an awareness of global issues, and a service to mankind with an aim to be a part of the solution rather than the problem.
Mission
The mission of the Dougherty International Education Middle School is to provide an educational experience that shall awaken the natural intelligence of all students, teach students to recognize the relationship between the subjects they study in school and the world in which they live and to encourage students to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people with their differences, can also be right.

We believe that when faculty and staff members foster meaningful relationships with the students, the students will perform better academically and socially.
We believe that regular and open communication between the school and the home is vital towards the success of our students.

We believe that learning styles and self-esteem enhances learning as students engage in developmentally appropriate activities.
We believe that every student deserves an excellent program of instruction in the core academic areas and technology that challenges each student to achieve at the highest level for productive citizenship in a global
