I believe that in order for Dominicans to keep our significance and historical legacy is to creAte cultural centers that emphasize not only our past but our impact in American society. Dominicans have a rich culture and history out of resistance and this should be taught in schools that are in Dominican communities.
We should also include arts and music and in not only the obvious traditional sense. but also embrace the two worlds in which we live in .
Our historical triumphs and woes should be transmitted through cultural awareness. I understand how hard it is to keep our legacy alive when we live in this country and sometimes are born in this country and as a result we become identified with one then the other.
