A numerous amount of Americans believe that many of their job opportunities are taken away by immigrants. In their book Greenwood and McDowell’s book they expressed how writers “Briggs (1975a, 1975b) has expressed what might be called the "replacement hypothesis," asserting that illegal aliens depress local wage levels and take jobs that would otherwise be held by native workers. Hartley (1972, p. 66) supports this view, arguing that illegal aliens "displace low income American workers, hampering unionizing efforts, encourage employers to disregard wage, hours, and working conditions statutes and generally depress the labor market"(Greenwood and McDowell 4). These writers argue that immigrants take all the jobs away from American citizens, and that Americans lose the opportunity of getting paid well. They believe that many immigrants are satisfied with low wages, and so that makes it hard for Americans to get payed higher or get the job. Most companies rather hire immigrants who work for low wages. In spite of what many Americans believe, immigrants tend to do the jobs Americans don’t like. Immigrants are just taking whatever job opportunity, because of their financial need. Immigrants don’t have the option to be picky with their job opportunity. Immigrants sacrifice many things to come to this country. They have to see the toughest things. They come in peace and in search of a new and better life. Many of the immigrants are children. Children who are looking for love. Immigrants are very hard workers. Immigrants are coming to the United States in search of a better lifestyle not take job opportunities. This argument relate to the Presidential candidate Donald Trump, who has made many unpleasant comments toward immigrants. Mr. Trump has been encouraging his ignorance. People shouldn’t blame immigrants or even believe in the stereotypes. They should see they they are human just like any other American. The reader should have a different view towards immigration. They should also consider not to vote for presidential candidate that offend immigrants. They should also participate in immigration reform
