Teams whose members come from different nations and backgrounds place special demands on managers—especially when a feuding team looks to the boss for help with a conflict” (authours, 2006). In addition, insufficient awareness of existence of differences, insufficient understanding and willingness are vital areas to be worked upon. Cultural differences can create substantial difficulties to effective teamwork. A negative aspect of multiculturalism is that it is prone to conflicts between different cultures and this occurs when multiculturalism is viewed in a wrong, negative perspective. One of the main barriers of multi-cultural team is direct versus indirect communication; trouble understanding the accents along with the fluency; differing attitudes toward hierarchy and authority; and conflicting norms for decision making. Demonstrating a known incident, a friend was hired in a multi-cultural team where existing members did not welcome him as a part of the team due to him being the only member from different background. As days went by, the communication between them was not as seamless as it should have been. Whenever a meeting was held, there were conflicts and no positive results were achieved. Particularly it is assumed that in a culturally diverse group, cultural norms will create confusion or conflict, or alternatively, creative insights into markets and products (Bourke, 2015), eventually leading to more benefits for an organisation as ideas from different cultures for a common goal will be more reliable. Building teams which comprise of diversified people is about increasing awareness and tolerance, and eliminating, or at least diminishing conflict. Multicultural teams have unique characteristics. Learning to use these productively will benefit team and at large the entire organization. Our working environment is like a prism, we all are one work force, however when we start working individually, we are unique. A diverse, multicultural work environment needs to be controlled well to be effective. If we are controlled without bearing in mind the individuality or their role in the whole, the finish product would signify chaos instead of perfectly blended
