The Role Of Sex And Gender In Today's Society

With everyone being different, the diverse sex and gender in today’s society plays a huge role in someone’s life. There are “some people who are born interested” (131) with that being said gender is social and consists of learning attitudes and behaviors, not biological or physical qualities. These days the word gender is well accepted, now days it is acceptable for people to consider themselves transgender. This is “denoting or relating to a person whose self-identity does not conform unambiguously to conventional notions of male or female gender” perhaps one would feel more comfortable expressing gendered traits that would be associated with the other sex. The scripts may lead to hooking up, this may result as a relationship or marriage or just casually hooking up with someone without commitment to one another.
