Being raised in a catholic home I was always taught to respect others, and to love everyone no matter who they maybe. Catholics believe love is a sacred bond between a man and women and anything other than that is a sin. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and has the freedom of speech but I firmly believe that all humans deserve respect. According to the American Catholics “The Vatican and Pope John Paul II are speaking out against the growing number of places that recognize same-sex marriages.” In addition according to The Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-Day Saints ““Homosexual behavior violates the commandments of God, is contrary to the purposes of human sexuality, and deprives people of the blessings that can be found in family life and in the saving ordinances of the gospel.” We can conclude from these quotes that churches will always be opposed to gay marriage, because they don’t mind same sex couples compatible in order to grow a family or can give a child the nourishment they might need. Even though churches are opposed to the gay marriage they still respect homosexuals according to this statements “The Catholic Church opposes gay marriage and the social acceptance of homosexuality and same-sex relationships, but teaches that homosexual persons deserve respect.” They catholic church is firm in their beliefs,
