Criterion A: Investigating

My goal was to create a family tree in my extended family for as far as my grandparents remembered. But once I realized that the tree wasn 't going to turn out as big as I thought it would be I decided to change my topic to something that I loved-food! I changed my topic to the history of pasta. This opened up doors that lead to new things that I could research and a much more vast ground for me to start my project on. I researched things like all the different types of pasta and a couple different sauces. The discovery of pasta really shaped the Italian culture. This was really cool for me because I got to see my family 's interpretation of some historical events versus what actually happened and what I found on the Internet through my research. Some of the things I needed to research included the different types of pasta and sauces and also I wanted to make sure that the things that my grandparents had told me were true and so I researched things like the history and where it came from and who brought it to Italy in the first place. Some of the big sources I used were my grandparents and my mom (because she 's Italian) and also websites like http://www.foodreference.com/html/artpasta.html and http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pasta. I wanted the best information I could get and that 's why I went to my grandparents who grew up in Cosenza, Italy and also I used the Internet when they didn 't know. I did use a wide range of sources and they are listed in the bibliography part of this assignment.
