Campus violence can happen anywhere. It can happen at any college or high school in any state. In 2014, there was 27,000 campus crime incidents reported just at colleges. Most of the crimes reported were 13,500 burglaries which consist of about 50% of crimes in 2014. Another 25% is forcible sex offenses with 6,700 incidents. This was actually a 2% decrease from 2013 with 27,400 on-campus crimes reported. There are very many different types of campus violence that happens around the world and affects people. It’s not just parents but other family members such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, and even cousins. It could cause the parents to want their kids to switch schools or go to homeschooling. The many ways include upgrading security and making new students feel welcome. There are already schools around the world that have started upgraded their security. They have installed metal detectors and they have started having people sign in to even get into school. The way to make new students feel welcome is to have other students greet them and the same for teachers. Teachers are responsible for teaching kids and giving them guidance. But it’s not just the teachers to give students guidance it’s also up to parents. Parents are an important part in a child’s life. The ways parents can help their kids not indulge in violent acts is to have a wonderful environment for the kids to grow up in.
