I have started following basketball for about seven years now. I have watched as a fan and as a way to learn the game. In my opinion, the two best ways to watch the game is by watching the NBA or the NCAA. The NBA or National Basketball Association, is a league of professional club basketball teams that all compete in North America with only 30 teams. It is considered to be the best of the best when it comes to the sport. The NCAA or National Collegiate Athletic Association, is a collegiate level play of basketball with over 300 Divison 1 basketball teams. Back in the early 00’s, the NBA decided to put a hand check rule into the game. This rule which is where a defender can momentarily put his hand on an offensive player as long as it does not affect the player 's balance and momentum. This rule made it where virtually anybody can blow right past anybody, this is why a lot of people are saying that the NBA as a whole has gotten weaker since the Michael Jordan era.
NCAA is similar to the NBA, but is also vastly different too. In college the biggest difference for the players is that they are going to school. Athletes have to follow specific requirements for eligibility in the classroom, unlike the NBA where all players have to do is play and they are paid for it too. There are big differences in both associations that fans of the game should know and players should get used to if they should move on to the NBA. For me personally I love the NBA, I even work for an NBA team, but the NCAA style of play suits me better. I think that the style of play is more fundamentally better and the NCAA carries more dedicated fans then some of the band wagon fans in the NBA. The NCAA is the best place to watch basketball if people are a die hard basketball fans and want to watch how basketball should be
