Communication Differences Between Men And Women

Men and women are also human beings. According to Barnet and Rivers and Sommers, there are many differences between men and women. Physicality is the obvious thing that men and women are different. Working hard, being test-takers, diligence, and communication are the factors that distinguish the differences between men and women, Men and Women are physically different. “Only in sports are boys ahead, and women’s groups are targeting the sport gaps with a vengeance” (Sommers 284). Males might be better than females in sports. However, females want to beat males because of the differences in sports. “Men are uncomfortable with any kind of communication that has to do with personal conflicts. They avoid talking about their problems. They avoid responding too deeply to other people’s problems, instead giving advice, changing the subject, making a joke, or giving no response. Unlike women, they don’t react to troubles talk by empathizing with others and expressing sympathy” (Barnett and Rivers 290). Giving suggestions, changing the topics of discussing, making a joke, and responding nothing are men’s communication troubles. Women care about other’s problems, and they will support others to deal with the problems. Some problems might be emotional. Men may lose their tears when they talk about their emotional problems. Men’s stereotype is that they are the leader of the family and should be strong, so they should not cry for any situations. Men may not want to discuss their problems with anyone because their stereotype. For example, when I have a problem, I would love to talk to my mother because she has great suggestions how to cope with the problems. For example, I did not have inspiration and motivation to keep studying when I was in high school. My mom took me to the poor communities and said that these people wanted to live better, but they did not have the opportunities to study like me. My friend, who is a girl, spent four years to learn about her couple before deciding to get married. She told me that her husband is very gentle and do everything for her such as doing housework, cooking, etc. Her husband is very nice even though he might not look handsome. On the other hand, my friend, who is a man, has a type to become his couple. He likes a beautiful and sexy woman. They will choose a man who may be a good leader for the family and who looks warm and can protect herself.
