The statement ‘The Difference Hope Makes’ has us wondering where exactly we would acquire this said hope. Whether or not a person has hope can make or break them. In the Scriptures, hope is an indication of certainty. Hope symbolizes a strong and confident expectation in something. Having hope in general has very little impact in changing one’s circumstances. However, having hope in something higher than what we can see and touch can do marvelous things. Romans 5:1-5 advises one to have hope in God’s love and in the sharing of His glory. It says, “Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,2 through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.” This passage demonstrates that we can be certain that through the trials and temptations one goes through in life, there is a happiness that can be found in hope, in the glory of God.
In context, so that we may have hope, we must have peace with God. This raises the question of how do we have peace with God? We have peace with God because we are justified by faith through Jesus Christ. In a world such as this, it’s…
