Many of us would be baffled at his advice and wonder why should we boast in our sufferings? In the passage, we are told that sufferings present hope as the end result and hope does not disappoint. Paul illustrates a domino effect. When we learn to endure trials and sufferings, we build character; and Paul believes that character produces hope. It is of a dynamic and active fixation that may determine the way one lives his/her life. Having hope does not escape us of our sufferings, however when our hope is set on our God and His love, it will keep us in motion.
