Higher education is the superlative goal for high school graduates in this generation. The hardest part of graduating high school is making the transition to adulthood. Conclusively, you’re compelled to make a major life decision that could possibly affect your future. As I begin my first semester of college, I’ve come to the realization that high school and college are the same sport but in different leagues. Textbook cost, social freedom, class schedules, homework, along with attendance differ a huge deal in college as well as high school. Overall, there are very peculiar differences between high school and college. In high school, the cost of textbooks is normally covered by the state. Students commonly get books for free, and you’ll only need to pay if you lose or damage the book. In college, you, the student, buy your textbooks and if they’re lost or damaged, it’s your choice to buy another and replace it. Another point about textbooks that differ in high school and college is the option to purchase a hardback, paperback, or an e-book. In college, your professor gives you options on the form of textbooks you could purchase. Some may have a preference, but overall it’s what you, the student can afford. In high school, attendance is required and mandatory. If you miss a day you’d need to bring a written or doctors excuse proving that you missed school for a valid reason. When too many unexcused days are accumulated child protective services are called, or the student is charged with truancy. In college, attendance is recommended but not required. If a student misses many days in college they will just be withdrawn from all of their classes and the college will assume they’ve dropped out. I would hope no one is crazy enough to not attend class in college because that would be a waste of the state and their parent 's
