Conflict between forces in nature, humans, groups, states, and countries has been a part of the human condition as long as there have been people and things to fight about. In The Diary Of Anne Frank, a young girl experiences the methodical extermination of the jews by the Nazis in WWII, from the perspective of a family hiding to save their lives. Another type of conflict and resolution is the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the U.S. near the end of WWII. These were actions in response to an International threat and a conflict between countries and their governments rather than the kind of interpersonal conflict the Frank family experienced. The best way people can respond to conflict is by examining the situation they’re in and finding the best solution they can to end it quickly. There are too many different types of conflict for there to be one tried and true method of resolution. Whether a person, a group or a country, conflict must be handled according to each situation.

On the other hand, if the U.S. were to ignore their conflict with Japan by taking the same passive approach as Anne, WWII would have gone on for much longer. If the U.S. had not bombed Nagasaki and Hiroshima, the long term effects of land, sea and air battles would have resulted in a greater loss of life overall, and an unstable global diplomacy. Some theorists think the alternative of not bombing them immediately could have even given Japan and Axis Powers a
