After Edmond finds the treasure he leaves it behind and only takes some jewels with him. He waits for the sailors for a week and finally they pick him up and they sail to Leghorn. Edmond sells some diamonds and buys Jacopo a ship and tells him to sail to Marseilles and as for a Loius Dantés and a woman named Mercedes. Edmond later then buys himself a huge ship with a secret compartment to hide his jewels. Later, Jacopo comes back and tells Edmond that Loius Dantes is dead and Mercedes has disappeared. Edmond sets sail to Marseilles and disguises himself as a priest named Abbé Busoni. Edmond then pays a visit to Cadderousse disguised as the Italian priest and pretend that he is in charge of Edmonds will. Edmond as the priest then tells him that Edmond Dantés died in prison and say that he has one diamond to split between the ones he loved the most his dad, Mercedes, Cadderousse, Danglars, and Fernand. Cadderousse then confesses the scheme that Danlars, Fernand and him planned so long ago. Edmond then realized that Abbe Faria was right. Showing mercy for his guilt Edmond tells him that he was the dead Edmond Dantés real friend and gives him the whole diamond. Then we find out that Danglars becomes extremely wealthy and is living somewhere in Paris. We also find out that Fernand has gone out and …show more content…
