This parent manual is written for parents and caretakers to have the developmental milestones required for a child age of newborn to twelve months old. In the first year, babies learn skills such as taking the first step, smiling for the first time, and waving these are called developmental milestones. The developmental milestones are things most children can do by a certain age. In the first year, babies learn to focus their vision, reach out, explore, and learn about the things that are around them. I will make sure to cover Language development this is listening, understanding sounds. During the first year of life, babies develop attachment this is developing bonds of love and trust with their parents and others as part of social and emotional development. This manual will benefit a new parent or even a parent with children already because it is never too late to learn new information regarding a child’s development.
The infancy period begins with the physical and cognitive development. Newborns cerebral cortex is the outer folded mantle of the brain responsible for thinking, reasoning and all conscious responses. The infant cortex is what differentiates a human from any other species on earth. The brain quadruples in volume during the first four years of life. A newborn is born with rooting, sucking and grasping reflexes. Their sucking reflex is important because as soon as a newborn is born they are able to drink their breast milk or formula from a baby bottle. Safety…
