Bullying occurs very often and unfortunately, in recent years has increasingly gotten out of hand. Bullying is deleterious behavior causing distress to someone's feelings that occurs repeatedly and intentionally; in order to try to put someone down or to intimidate someone, this is usually done to force the victim to do what one wants .Bullying can be verbal, physical, social, or aggression towards someone in order to make them feel subservient or less of themselves. There are various types of bullying and also various reasons why people get bullied, but one main problem is that a great amount of people does not report it; only one out of every four report being bullied which is less than 64 percent and a little over 36 percent don’t report …show more content…
This can cause great harm to the victim and in extreme cases can cause broken bones or severe bruises and cuts as well. Physical bullying is more likely to occur in males since a lot of the time they seem to be more aggressive than females. Bullies might use physical bullying to fit in and often have trouble with self-control and caring for others. Which is why they would rather use physical bullying to get what they want. Convert bullying is really hard to recognize and most of the time extremely hard to prove. Covert bullies plan on humiliating or destroying the victim’s reputation. This bully sometimes tends to pretend to be the victims’ friend, but at the same time is planning ways to embarrass and destroy the person’s reputation. This type of bully also spreads false rumors and might encourage others to exclude the person from social groups, social activities or even at a lunch table. Then there’s also Cyber bullying, this consists of saying mean words, lies, false rumors and also things such as racist comments or sexist comments through text messages, social media posts, and e-mails. Cyber bullies are often just cowards, they intentionally hurt people, but do not face them. It can negatively impact people’s mental health and wellbeing. People who get bullied or have gotten bullied often go through psychological problems such as depression and anxiety, they might also feel very insecure, helpless, and lonely or as if no one understand. It can lead to physical injury, social problems, and emotional problems. They might avoid group situations and will spend a lot of their time alone and trying to figure out what to do stop it and also where to go to try to avoid being bullied. Most kids or teens who are bullied don’t do well in school. Often their grades and test scores will drop, and they are more likely to miss, skip or sometimes even drop out of school. A lot of people who have gotten bullied or who get bullied may find it hard to trust others and may also have problems making and keeping friends, due to the fact that they feel afraid and lack confidence. Bullying can affect people of all ages in many different ways .Some people turn to drugs and alcohol and will get into fights or just act out and get in to trouble. In some cases the victim can also become abusive toward their spouse or even to their children. Sometimes when people get bullied, they are too afraid to speak up and defend themselves. They also usually don’t tell anyone because they feel alone or as if no one will understand and sometimes they just don’t see it as a big deal. Most teens often feel as if they can
