A lot of young teens or adults experiment with heroin thinking, “I’ll try it once or twice. I can always stop.” But those who start down that road find it nearly impossible to turn back. Heroin is a drug that slows down the messages travelling between your brain and body which can also be classified as a depressant drug a depressant drug, or central depressant drug, is a very commonly used drug for pain relief or endogenous compound that lowers neurotransmission levels, which is to depress or reduce awakening or stimulation, in various places in the brain. Heroin is part of a group called the opioids that are from the opium poppy a very beautiful flower. This drug is highly addictive and can be nearly impossible to overcome …show more content…
This means it slowly decreases your brain function and disturbs your breathing (which can slow down or even stop which can be very dangerous to your personal health). Your body temperature and blood pressure drop quite low, and your heartbeat can become irregular. You may lose awareness or even lapse into a coma. Ambulance officers can give the medication naloxone to help change the effects of heroin on your brain. The availability of heroin in our society today at the street level is random meaning there is a lot of availability for the drug and then it just goes away and there’s not much availability. The impact of the heroin shortage in 2000-01 in Australia noted that the increase in heroin prices and the reduction in heroin availability and purity lowered the overall demand for heroin.
Evaluation:
In conclusion I believe that heroin is a drug that effects your whole life turning it upside down. This drug has impacted many young lives all around the world. Because like I have already said young kids think they can take it once and they will be fine but actually you get hooked like crazy. Maybe not that quick but it gets in your head and you take it once then twice and then next thing you know it you’re hooked on this horrible life threatening …show more content…
