The limited publication of Iraqi school children oral health on a national level had led to a vague picture of the true oral health situation of Iraqi children. Choosing the public primary school is of an advantage due to the high rate of children’s attendance from various socioeconomic levels 40. The first Oral Health Survey of the schoolchildren has been conducted in 1985 through the combined efforts of the Ministry of Health and the Bagdad College of Dentistry41. The Survey was undertaken on 1213 Iraqi primary school children, 564 boys and 649 girls, of mixed socioeconomic classes. The schools and children were randomly selected by the Statistics Department in the Ministry of Health from the province of Baghdad, which is situated in the center of Iraq and is the most populated41. The results showed that there were no differences between boys and girls in the caries prevalence, which ranged from 0.6 at age 6 years old to 2.7 at age 12 years old. The rate of caries free children decreased from 67% at age 6 years to 21 % at age 12 years, and 15% of children aged 9 and 12 years suffered from caries in more than one-fourth their dentition41, which declared that the
