In other words, success is when a person reaches their goals that make them happy. While everyone wants to reach their goals and aspirations in life, what makes them happy is different from person to person. This has been especially true over the years. What defines a person’s success has changed over the years and continues to change for years to come. Around the year 1903, my ancestors took a picture in front of their house to send back to their family in Germany. The house looked more like a rickety, old barn than a home, and they hung two butchered hogs in the background. My family thought they had it all, a family, a house, and meat. Education wasn’t the top priority, but staying at home to do chores and helping with the family was. Simply being able to take care of themselves was good enough.
