Argumentative Essay On Sin Is Yes Our L-Rd

Whenever we hear the word sin, we start squirming. But not because we feel the need to change. The word just makes us uncomfortable. Thus the natural tendency in this world where everyone wants to make themselves feel and look good (especially by not offending anyone else), is to simply not talk about sin. Then they do not have to worry about their friends not liking them. Besides, we should not judge each other right? And really, his definition of wrong is different from mine—so how can he tell me anything??? It is not really all that bad, is it? Unfortunately, these statements are characteristic of the attitudes of so many “believers.” However, these statements present one of the reasons why churches and synagogues in the world today are …show more content…
Most of us just run…until we are swallowed by a whale. Then we cannot run and have to turn to our Maker whom we rejected. Would it not have been easier to just turn around before?? Thankfully, G-d gives us, like Jonah, another chance. For we know that, “sin’s payment is death, but G-d’s gracious gift is eternal life in Messiah Yeshua our L-rd” (Romans 6:23, TLV). It is then time to face our sin. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Thus, we cannot just put a cap on sin and hide it under a bushel because then we have this heavy load overwhelming us. And when we do not deal with the sin, we continue sinning against G-d, which makes it hard for us to follow Him. Realizing this, the believer should be continually asking G-d to forgive him, and keep him from temptation (cf. Matthew 6:13), that he may sin no more (John …show more content…
What if the unbelieving neighbor believes that he is still a good person? Well, the Word of G-d does not lie, and this message of sin and salvation is what the Bible proclaims, and we are instructed to also proclaim it. Even though the world may feel that we are against them, showing them the truth and proclaiming eternal salvation is the best way we can care for them. The Bible is the final judge to determine what is sin and what is not, since we know that “All Scripture is inspired by G-d and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16,17). Therefore, through the working of the Holy Spirit, every person should understand that G-d’s final standards are what determine “right” and “wrong.”
In conclusion, sin is out there, and it cannot be ignored. But there is hope in Messiah Yeshua, who has paid the price of redemption with His own blood. The Word of G-d gives us the instructions we need to better follow Him as our L-rd, and we are to never, ever be ashamed of these truths. May G-d help us make this come

Because we are made in His image, we are supposed to be merciful to others, just like God is (Luke 6:36). God tells us that we will be blessed if we show mercy because then, we will have mercy shown to us (Matthew 5:7). Some people ask, “Why doesn’t God show mercy to the people who suffer?” Well, the Bible invites us into suffering because when we join the sufferings of Christians, we become a good soldier of Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 2:3). Not just a soldier, but a good soldier. God allows suffering because He loves us.…

He satisfied the penalty of the law by dying on the cross” (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Therefore, the only thing left for us to do is to trust what Christ has done on the cross, by faith. That is why the Bible tells us that “we are made right before God by faith” (Romans 5:1). Therefore, to be saved by grace means to be safe from the righteous judgment of God by the unmerited favor found only in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Grace is getting what we do not deserve from God.…

The side that is winning and will win is Jesus Christ and the losing side is Satan but he will still continue on to fight. Even “though we have been delivered from the kingdom of sin and its rule, we have not been delivered from its attacks”(Bridges.39). Since sin will not win over us and won't have us as slaves we, therefore, sin as a freedom of choice and we must not let that take over our bodies. Chapter six is titled “The battle of Holiness” because he talks about the battle of sin we have within our hearts. Sin comes from the heart which can lead to sexual immorality and evil thoughts.…

What counts is where I am going” (Jantz, 1998, p. 18). The sins of my past are forgiven, but that doesn’t mean I can continue to sin in my path forward with God. I am called to confess my sin and He will be faithful and just to forgive me. I know Christ died to atone for my sins, but it is hard to fathom why God would sacrifice His only Son in such a horrific way to atone for the sins of the world. This sacrifice is confirmed in Colossians 1:20-21, “and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.…

Because God is holy, he cannot allow sin to go unpunished. His justice demands that every sin be punished—no matter how small it may seem to us. If he were to forgive sin without proper punishment, he would cease to be holy and just. God would no longer be God because he would have denied his own character. That could not happen.…

Jesus always had an inclusive, loving, and humble attitude toward sinners. We should strive to project this same attitude that Jesus did. The Catholic Church strictly follows the moral guidelines outlined in the Bible, specifically regarding sexuality and just war. Although these guidelines prove to be extremely difficult for humans to follow, we should never feel inferior and unworthy because mercy and forgiveness are always available to anyone who confesses their sins and asks for forgiveness. The chapter in the book Sin and Mercy gave me many ideas on how to improve my own spiritual journey such as giving more, having a forgiving attitude, and an inclusive attitude to…

We are called to be good stewards of what God has entrusted us with. We are responsible to God for the way we treat the rest of the beautiful things that He has created. If we are misusing or abusing the rest of creation we will be held in contempt and end up hurting ourselves. If we put God first in our lives, and follow the instructions of the Bible we have no choice but to act out of love, as God is…

We move along a path daily to become more and more like Christ and He provides the perfect example. “This High Priest of ours [Jesus] understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.” (Hebrew 4:15). Well, we are human, we will sin but the deeper meaning here is that you can have compassion, you can identify with people’s suffering but in all of that you can still be an example of a better way to get through this thing called life. It's the Holy Spirit calling you to admit on the basis of 1 John 1:9, “Dear Lord, I was wrong?” As such, we resolve within our hearts that we will, with the help of God, “cease to do evil, and learn to do good” (Isaiah 1:16). As soon as you confess and repent, God says, “I'm glad you shared that with Me. You're cleansed; now get on with life.” And, you walk away from that confrontation free. If it drives you away from Jesus making you to want to isolate yourself or run to other sins, it is probably a sorrow provoked by accusation. When you find lies lurking beneath your feelings of sorrow -- especially if your feelings persistently drive you into the ground -- you are being falsely accused.…
