According to the definition of conflict it states it’s a struggle between at least two interdependent parties who perceive incompatible goals, scarce resources, and interference from the other party in achieving their goal. The situation the HR director has on her hands follows the definition of conflict. According to the lecture the conflict style the two employees are experiencing is competition. They very high concern for self and low concern for others. That is a big issue in my opinion. I say it’s competition because the employees that are fighting with each other are labeling things in the workplace “off limit” for the other employees not to use. Which shows that they don’t care if there’re affecting the other employees in the office from doing their job correctly because there are sticky notes labeled “off limits” on office supplies. I have to bring them together at the same time because according to the HR director one of the employees work during the day and the other employee works the night shift. In my opinion you cannot resolve this conflict over mediated communication. I feel like to resolve this conflict it’s best to bring in both employees physically to talk it out. The second thing I would do to resolve the problem is let both employees speak out their emotions what started this alternation between both of them and why it has escalated so drastically that the HR director had to be notified.
