My dad has been and lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina which is South America. He tells me lots of stories about the time he was living down there and last year I asked him a question about being America and he gave me an answer that was not what I expected to be the answer. The answer was that if you told a South American that he wasn’t American he would probably get the snot beat out of you. To have a birth certificate that says born it the U.S. would mean that you are an American. In the past our family desisted to have exchange students in our house and that was really cool because I remember the 2 main ones. The one I will talk about is from Spain and his name is Dany. So he was born in Spain and loves it there but he would always say that he was never going to live there because he liked Spain more. Now that I’m a little smarter I thought about Dany and not wanting to be American and I think if he were born in the U.S. that he would have liked to be American. These ties into the next part about being American. It’s a given if you are an American then you have to be patriotic to your country.
